Emerald-Cut Labradorite Cabinet Knobs
About the Labradorite
The base color of labradorite is a smoky gray, close to storm cloud, and the interest comes from what sits under that surface. Fine layers inside the crystal split the light and throw back blue, green and occasionally gold when the angle is right.
Turn away from it and the flash drops out, leaving plain gray again. That switching is the point of the stone, and it shows up most on a door that is opened and passed several times a day.
How It’s Made
This piece is faceted by hand into a rectangle, so the flash is broken across several planes and can be caught from more than one position instead of only head on. The edge is electroformed: real metal grown onto the stone until the rim carries genuine thickness and is bonded permanently, never a leaf or coating that can rub off. Thick metallic gold is the standard rim, with silver and rose gold made to order.

Fit and Installation
This is one of the larger knobs in the range, which gives a wardrobe door or a deep drawer something substantial to pull on. It mounts through a single drilled hole with the 1.75" brass bolt supplied, and no additional hardware is required. Tighten by hand, with care, rather than over-torquing.
Care
Wipe the face with a soft dry cloth. Household cleaners dull the polish that makes the flash visible and collect in the facet edges.
