Square White Agate Classic Vintage Finish Cabinet Drawer Pull Dresser Handle Knobs
About the Agate
White agate is pale all through, banded in chalk, cream and translucent gray. On a white cabinet door it almost disappears, leaving the metal edge to draw the shape of the knob.
Up close the bands are still there, fine and close together, and the polished face carries a low sheen rather than a hard glare. Some pieces hold a small crystal pocket near the center.
How It’s Made
Cut square at 1.5" x 1.5" with a flat pale face and four straight sides, each knob is finished by hand before the edge is electroformed in thick metallic gold. Electroforming grows real metal onto the stone and bonds it permanently, so the band wears like metal and not like a coating. A single bolt runs through brass fittings at the back.
Details
- Material: natural white agate with brass fittings
- Dimensions: 1.5" x 1.5"
- Projection: 1"
- Bolt: 2", can be trimmed to size
- Edges can be done in gold, silver or rose gold.
Hand finished, so no two are exactly alike: the banding, the warmth of the white and the edge all shift from piece to piece.
Fit and Installation
Suits a run of kitchen cabinet doors where a round knob would read too soft, and the square back sits flush without spinning. No additional hardware is required. Trim the 2" bolt to size, tighten by hand and stop as soon as the knob holds.
Care
Clean with a soft dry cloth; white agate shows a film if household cleaners are used on it.
