About the Agate

Blue agate runs from a pale sky tone through to gray-blue, banded in fine parallel lines that follow the wall of the cavity the stone grew in. The blue is rarely flat; it lightens and darkens across a single slice.

Where the bands thin out the stone turns translucent and a lamp behind it will show through. Against pale paint or oak it reads cool and quiet, and it holds that coolness under warm light.

How It’s Made

A long slice is cut, drilled and set upright as a pull handle, held on two screws that pass through the stone itself. At 6" to 5.5" tall it gives a full-hand grip. The cut edge is electroformed, real metal grown onto the stone and permanently bonded rather than a leaf or coating that can rub off, and it can be finished in gold, silver or rose gold. The hardware behind it is brass.

Fit and Installation

Made for cupboard doors, cabinet fronts and drawers. Two screws, 5.08 cm (2") long, set 4" (10cm) apart. Bring the pair down evenly by hand; over-tightening one side levers the stone against the door.
