Dyvea looks straight down into a brilliant-cut diamond. Dozens of facets radiate from a single point at the centre and fracture outward to the edge, each one a slightly different tone of teal, navy, ivory or black. Scattered between them are small flashes of violet, mustard and bronze — the way a real stone throws unexpected colour when light passes through it.

A cut diamond seen from above is round by nature, and every facet points back to the same centre — so this is a design that only exists on a circle. A hand-tufted round rug that sparkles without a single thread of metallic yarn.

Hand Tufted in Bhadohi, India

Every Dyvea rug is handcrafted in our own workshop in Bhadohi, in the heart of India's carpet belt. Artisans hand-tuft 100% New Zealand wool into a cotton canvas backing, to a dense 4000 GSM, then hand-carve every facet.

With so many angular facets meeting at sharp points, every edge has to be carved crisply after tufting. It is the precision of those edges that makes the rug read as cut stone rather than as a random mosaic — and the ivory bands have to line up across the whole circle so the light seems to travel through the diamond in straight paths.

New Zealand wool is used for a reason — it is naturally springy, stain-resistant, flame-resistant and holds dye brilliantly, which keeps the small violet and mustard flashes vivid against the deep navy.

Seven round diameters: 3 Feet, 4 Feet, 5 Feet, 6 Feet, 8 Feet, 10 Feet and 12 Feet.

• 3–4 ft — entryways, bedsides, reading nooks, under a small side table
• 5–6 ft — coffee table anchor, nursery, home office chair zone
• 8 ft — the most popular living room size; front legs of the sofa sit on the rug
• 10–12 ft — large open-plan living rooms and round dining tables, with chairs staying on the rug when pulled out

Every facet points to the centre, so Dyvea has no wrong orientation — but the effect is strongest with the middle of the stone left open.

Styling Notes

Dyvea brings a jewel-like sparkle to a room. It suits glamorous bedrooms, dressing rooms and living rooms with velvet, brass and smoked glass, and it is equally at home in a crisp contemporary space with white walls and navy or teal upholstery. The teal and navy make it a natural partner for coastal schemes too. Suits contemporary, glam and modern interiors.

Care Instructions

• Dry clean only — do not machine wash, soak or steam clean
• Vacuum regularly without a beater bar; use suction only on cut pile
• Blot spills immediately with a clean dry cloth — never rub; act fast on the ivory facets
• Easy to clean: the dense wool pile releases dust and dirt with routine vacuuming
• Shedding is normal on a new wool rug for the first few weeks and settles with vacuuming
• Trim any sprouting tufts with scissors — never pull them
• Rotate every 6 months for even wear and consistent light exposure
• Use an anti-slip rug pad underneath to stop movement and extend the life of the pile
• Keep out of prolonged direct sunlight to prevent fading on the teal and violet
• Air the rug outdoors in shade occasionally to refresh the wool
