Agate Oval Coffee Table, 24" x 14" Organic Edge
About the Agate
Agate is chalcedony that built up in bands inside a gas cavity, one layer at a time. Cut across, a slab shows those layers as concentric rings following the old cavity wall, so an oval top reads as a set of nested outlines.
Color comes from the minerals in the water as each band formed, so agate runs through grays, creams, browns and reds, often within one piece. Thinner layers pass light; thicker ones hold it.
How It’s Made
The top is a long oval slab, polished flat on the face with the edge left in the natural, uneven line of the stone.
That edge is electroformed: metal grown onto the rim in thin layers until it has real thickness and is permanently bonded to the agate. The legs are electroformed metal in the same finish, in silver, rose gold or gold.

A Gift For
The long oval works in front of a sofa or between two chairs, which makes it a housewarming or new-home gift that gets used. It also suits a wedding registry, an anniversary, or client gifting.
Care
Dust with a soft, dry, lint-free cloth. Blot any spill with a paper towel at once and wipe dry to avoid staining, and keep chemical cleaners off the stone.
